Ecclesiastes 10:10(NASB)

10. If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.

It is important for every believer to grow in wisdom… especially when it comes to living for Jesus.

I believe that the best way to grow in Kingdom wisdom is to find a friend who shares your beliefs. You know, somebody who loves God just as much as you do and who wants to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

But instead of just chilling and enjoying each other’s company you could get together regularly to discuss what God is teaching you through His Word, to pray for each other, and to talk about problems and successes.

Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” In other words, it’s important to have somebody in our lives to make us sharper… to help us become better in Christ.

Our own individual efforts can only get us so far regardless of our zeal or how hard we work. Like my father used to say “Instead of working harder, work smarter.”

Find a friend who can help you grow wiser in your walk with The Lord.
