Haggai 1:3 – 4; 7 – 8; 13 - 14

3. Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai:

4. “Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?”

7. This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways.

8. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord.

13. Then Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, gave this message of the Lord to the people: “I am with you,” declares the Lord.

14. So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the Lord Almighty, their God,

Supporting The Building Project

The Building Project is a big step of faith for this church, both individually and corporately. For over 14 years we have lived off the sacrifice made by those who purchased the Higher Calling Baptist Church building that we currently occupy. Now we have the privilege of investing in a major project which we trust will be of value for many years to come.

Our vision is to produce a building which will be a resource for the community and provide a means of spreading the gospel in the city of Wilson and throughout the state of North Carolina.

We acknowledge that we are wholly reliant on God for his provision and guidance in all things. However, we know that God uses people like us … people like you to achieve His purposes.

God has greatly encouraged and blessed us with the sacrificial giving of many in our congregation. However, we want to invite and encourage all of our members and friends of this ministry to join with us in supporting this project as it will take all of us in a united effort to complete this task.

First, join us through prayer support.

It is our great privilege to be able to commit every aspect of this project to God in prayer, so please join with us in praying:

1. God uses our project to extend greatly His Kingdom here in the City of Wilson.
2. That the necessary funds will be raised to complete the project.
3. For wisdom from God in all of our decision making and planning and execution of the plans that He gives us.

Secondly, we need your financial Support.

We rely entirely on the giving of our members and regular attendees to finance our ministries and mission. We give thanks and praise to God for his gracious provision and for His people who give from their hearts but we need everybody on board with the plan of God.

1. Give the tithe as required by God.
2. Give a good freewill offering as requested by God.
3. Give sacrificially towards the work.
4. Help with fund raisers that become available.

We need to raise a lot of money to allow us to proceed to construction. God expects all of us to work together to get it done!

God told the Israelites in Haggai’s day to go up to the mountains and get the resources needed to build His house so that He could be pleased with it.

God is telling us today to go get the resources needed to build His house. It is our privilege to work for God in this matter. God said he would be with us. That gives us assurance and confidence that if we work together, God will be with us to help us build Him a House that He can take pleasure in!
