Psalm 133

1. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2. It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3. As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Unity In The House

What an awesome Fourteenth Anniversary Service we had this weekend. The Word was on point, the Spirit of God saturated the atmosphere and we were blessed!

HCBC, we have been together for fourteen years. What an awesome accomplishment especially when you consider all the naysayers and negative predictions concerning our ministry at the beginning. However, we are still here and thriving by the grace of God, and with His help we shall continue.

HCBC, I am convinced that we can do anything when we do it together. All of us are important … all of us are needed. Every one of us has value and one person’s value is no greater than any other person’s value. We are all needed and that’s what makes us a church family.

Our unity as a Christian family is good and pleasant. It is what makes Higher Calling home and not just a place of collective worship. Our unity shows value in each person and sustains us as a church family. And the reason we are united is because we are in Christ.

Our unity is based in Jesus. I stand with you as my brother or sister because Jesus stands with you. God called us to be a family, a body, a church. We live in harmony because we share a common desire – to do the will of our Father in Heaven. It is not about our differences – but about Jesus. It is not about what we have in common – but about Jesus. It is not about what we like – but about Jesus. We are united because each of us believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who saved us from our sins and brought us together through his blood. That is why we are united. That is why we have lasted these fourteen years and that is why we shall continue to thrive at HCBC.

Happy Anniversary to you all!!!

Dr. J. M. Wooten
