Ephesians 3:17-19

7. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18. May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19. And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Knowing The Love of Christ

Have you ever heard this saying?

A child asked Jesus how much He loved her. He answered, “This much,” and then He stretched out His arms and died on the cross.

Most of us have heard this before and I am convinced that it is a great way to think about how much Jesus loves you.

Consider this: Jesus loves you so much that He left heaven and came to earth for you. He loves you so much that He suffered and died for you. He loves you so much that He went into the lower regions and defeated death, hell and the grave for you. He loved you so much that He rose from the dead, ascended back to Heaven and is seated on the right hand of The Father making intercession for you. And the Bible says that nothing you can do will separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

In these verses from Ephesians, Paul describes Jesus’ love as being “wide and long and high and deep.” What he means is you will never come to the end of it. God loved you before He created you. He loves you right this minute. And He will love you for eternity.

We cannot possibly understand how much Jesus loves us because the love of Christ “passeth knowledge”. But we don’t have to. All we have to do is accept it.
