Be Careful of What You Hear

What we hear is important. So is how we hear it; particularly, the words or the voices that we hear and pay attention to.

The context in which we hear what is said, including our own emotional state, who it is that is doing the talking, the talker’s emotional state and the intent of the message that is being voiced all has an effect on us.

What we hear produces a response within us. For example, sometimes the music we hear makes us want to dance, and sometimes it makes us want to cry.

What we hear can also produce faith in us. We must be careful what we listen to. If we are not careful the things that we hear will produce the wrong kind of faith in us. If we listen continually to negative voices, what we hear from those voices will produce a negative, can’t have it, can’t do it, and can’t be it kind of faith in us.

Be sure that when you are hearing conversation you only receive what is positive and God-directed. God is speaking by His Word. The Word of God always produces positive faith in the hearer.
