"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and though the rivers, they will not overflow you. … For I am the Lord your God …" (Isaiah 43:2-3a)

Many people had to pass through the floodwaters left by hurricanes and tropical storms, as they wade the waters to survive. Even though the waters were deep for some, they still were brave or courageous enough to hold on until help arrived.

When we pass through deep waters in life, or when trouble arises, we sometimes wonder who can help me now. Who can keep me from drowning in pity? Be encouraged! Even in the deepest of waters, God promises to be with the one who trusts in Him. He can save you and keep you from drowning. Didn’t Jesus save Peter from drowning when He invited him to walk on the water even during a storm? When Peter gave in to fear, he started to sink, but all he did was cry out to Jesus, “Lord save me!” and Jesus reached out and helped him.

He can help you too. Just have faith, reach out, and take hold of Jesus hand. Don’t be afraid no matter how deep the waters may seem.

Know that God can handle whatever it is that is troubling you!
