Psalm 115:3 - 8(NIV)

3 Our God is in heaven;
He does whatever pleases Him.
4 But their idols are silver and gold,
made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear,
noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel,
feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.

Think about what’s most important to you, what you count on, what you love, prize or can’t live without.
What is it that holds your complete dedication and would hurt you to your heart if it was taken away from you? What would crush you if you lost it?

Today beloved, let’s take a really good look at our lives and hearts, our checkbooks and calendars, and ask God to show us what idols we may have set up in our lives.

The Word of God makes it clear that when we cry out to idols, they can’t save us. They’re dead. Unlike God, an idol gets its power from those who worship it.

In other words beloved, we are the ones who give life and power to the idols in our life. Alcohol can only be a god if we make it one. Money can only be a god if we worship it. But God is God regardless of what we do.

God is constant. Always forgiving. Always loving. Never changing. And, He gives us power to overcome any and every idol that may have a place in our life.

Our God is someone worth giving our life to.

Check yourself, beloved. Make sure you know who you are serving!.

God bless you is my prayer!
