Acts 18:9-10(NIV)
9. One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.
10. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”
Imagine that, beloved! The great Apostle Paul was so scared that The Lord had to encouraged him with those words! I mean, Paul was known for his boldness and courage. He was the Apostle who was beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned and constantly criticized yet he never shrank away from his calling. Yet, when reading these verses, you have to conclude that Paul was so afraid that he was considering to not preach the Gospel!
Paul knew very well that his preaching was the reason that he was being attacked and hurt, and nobody, even Paul, wants to be attacked or hurt. However, God knew what Paul needed to keep going. The Lord assured Paul to continue, to not quit, but to speak, and then He calmed Paul’s fears by saying that no one would attack him and hurt him.
Beloved, God also knows just what you need to hear. God knows just how much each of us can take. And God knows how to assure us, comfort us, encourage us and motivate us to continue.
What fears are you dealing with today? Are you struggling with thoughts of quitting or stopping? God knows your heart and He can minister to you at your place of fear. Allow His Holy Spirit to minister to you today. Open His Word and listen as He speaks to your heart. Then, go and do what He leads you to do.
God bless you is my prayer.
